Kirk Terry Morris was born May 1, 1951 to Richard and Francis Boylan Morris in Chariton, Iowa. He passed from this life on Thursday, November 29, 2012 after a heroic battle with cancer under the care of Hospice at the Lucas County Health Center at the age of 61.

Kirk grew up in the Lucas County area and graduated from Chariton High School in 1969. Following graduation, he worked for Maytag in Newton, Iowa for several years. Throughout his life he had many skills and work for various companies. He worked for the Burlington Northern railroad as a heavy machine operator. Kirk also was a skilled welder and was able to weld just about anything with precision. He worked for Mac Landers in Osceola, Iowa and helped his father haul cattle. However, his main interest was working on computers.

He owned and operated a computer business, Geek On Wheels, located in Chariton, Iowa.

Kirk had a love and passion for music of all kinds. He was self-taught on the guitar and was extremely talented in that area. There wasn't any type of music that Kirk could not play. He played everything from Country to Rock and Blue Grass. He belonged to several bands over the years including Eddie Stone and The Shylocks, Gary Hawk and The Country Hawks, Sunstorm, Poverty Ridge Band, Monsoon, Tallahoma, and most recent band, Suitcase Boys. In his younger years, he enjoyed coon hunting with his buddies. It has been said of Kirk that he was also always willing for an afternoon of fishing.

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances (Boylan) Morris and his little sister, Dawn Ann.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Scheller, his brothers, Rick, Drew,and Steve Morris, his son; Chris Morris; stepson, Rick Rodriguez and step daughter, Sadye Scheller ;and countless relatives and family friends.

Visitation Services were held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Fielding Funeral Home. Arrangements were in care of Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa.

The family requested that Memorials may be sent to Fielding Funeral Home.
