I'm so very sorry to hear of this news. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this dear woman. I loved seeing her at the ballgames/school events, Derby post office and of course I miss giving her my weekly hugs at church. She'll be great missed but Jesus will definitely have another angel on board.

Aunt Betty has been in my life since she married my Uncle Bernard when I was a little girl., but I would like to share a story about how she made a real difference in the life of my brother, Tony. (You may know him as George.) Tony got into some trouble and was sent away in 1995, and our mother wrote to him regularly. When our mom died in 1999, Aunt Betty started writing to him weekly. After Tony came home, they continued to write a letter to each other every week. Aunt Betty wrote him until she was not able to and Tony continued to write. Writing a letter a week for seventeen years is a sign of commitment, kindness, and love. She will be missed.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Miss Betty. We'll always remember her fondly and feel blessed that we had the pleasure of knowing her. She and Wayne have been a blessing to us. Iowa will not be the same for the "Tennessee Boys"
