William “Bill” Wetterling was born March 11, 1965 to William Emil Wetterling and Margaret Sue Glassinger at White Sulphur Springs, Montana. He grew up and went to school in Russell and Humeston Ia. Bill graduated from Mormon Trail High School in 1983. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Marines corps. to serve his country proudly. Bill retired May 5, 2021 as a truck driver for Future Trucking. He also served on the Humeston Fire Dept.
On August 1, 2009, Bill was united in marriage to his best friend and love of his life Deanna. They brought together two families making one big family. Bill and Dee mostly lived and raised their children in Humeston, IA. The last 2.5 years they have lived in Williamsburg, Iowa. Bill was a family man and loved to spend his time with his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed watching his favorite team the Steelers play.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Wetterling and Sue Glassinger, grandparents, brother Dick Furman, aunt Kay Mastin, great uncle Jack Glassinger. The loved ones that he left behind to mourn his memories are his wife Dee of Williamsburg, IA, son Lance (Shelby) Wetterling of Humeston, IA, daughter Kasie (Andy) Crawford of Humeston, IA, step-son, Kyle (Julie) Glenn, step-daughters, Kelsi (Jon) Farley, Stephanie Glenn, Ashley Glenn, Breanna Glenn, sisters, Deb Wetterling, Lori (Fred) Reed, brothers, Kyle Wetterling, Vince (Amanda) Wetterling, Shanon (Stephanie) Wetterling, grandchildren, Caden, Nolan, Scotlyn Crawford, Orion Wetterling, and Baby Farley due in October 2021. Along with all of his family and friends that will miss him greatly.
Bill passed away on June 25, 2021, at his home in Williamsburg, Iowa. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., July 2, 2021 at the Fielding Funeral Home Inc. in Chariton, Iowa. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at the Derby Cemetery in Derby, Iowa following the services. There will be a luncheon after the interment at the Christian United Methodist Church in Humeston, Iowa for all that would like to attend. Memorials may be directed to the family.
