Thomas "Tom" Patrick Webster

Thomas “Tom” Patrick Webster was born June 25, 1963 to Ronald and Genevieve (Seykora) Webster in Hannibal, MO.  He was raised and lived in Lucas County most of his life.  In January of 1981, Tom graduated early from Chariton High School.  He then went on to the Lincoln Tech Trade School in West Des Moines, Iowa.  Tom worked as a printer pressman for Garner Printing Inc. in Des Moines, Iowa for 41 years.  He was a member of the Graphic Communication Union and shop steward for 20+ years.

On June 3, 2006 in Norwood, Iowa, Tom married the love of his life and best friend, Kelly Messenger.  They were together for 26 years.

Tom loved to stay busy, he was a jack of all trades. Tom was an excellent mechanic, tree trimmer, electrician, plumber...the list goes on! Anything he didn’t know he looked up and taught himself. Tom loved hunting, trapping, collecting cars and was an amazing cook. He was most famous for his tenderloins.  Honestly there was nothing  that Tom couldn’t do, he was a “genius”.

Tom was a loyal, generous, kind-hearted man, who helped family, friends and even strangers. He entertained everyone with his jokes and stories. First priority was his family. Tom & Kelly did practically everything together. They loved their dogs, antiquing, eating out and their “porch time”. He talked to his daughter Samantha everyday, they loved hanging out and antiquing, as well. He also spent a lot of time with his mom talking politics over a cup of coffee.

Tom passed away September 30, 2022 from a freak lawn mower accident.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Ronald Webster; brother, Steve Webster; niece, Jenni Epperson-Scrogin; and father-in-law, Lloyd Messenger.

Tom is survived by his wife Kelly; daughters, Samantha Webster and Taryn Wheeler; grandson, Kain Wheeler; mother, Genevieve Webster; siblings, Rosanne (Donald) Epperson, Edward Webster, Jim (Patti) Webster, Gary (Diane) Webster, Teresa (Steve) Hegre and numerous nieces and nephews.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  On line condolences may be left at www.fieldingfuneralhome.com.
