Shawn Anthony Ruepke, 39, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Unity-Point Methodist in Des Moines, Iowa. Shawn was born on June 22, 1985, in Knoxville, Iowa to Diana Mumford and Tony Ruepke. He lived and attended school in Chariton, Iowa. Shawn had 4 years apprentice with Local 67 as an Iron worker, a job which he loved doing.

On January 16, 2016, Shawn married Ashely Lenzine. To this union two beautiful children were born, Sophiee and Syiless. Later to join his family was Amy and her two children, Baleigh and Addie. Family was important to Shawn; he made sure he went to all their activities and spent quality time with his children and family. He also enjoyed fishing and going to the races.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Diana (Rod) Mumford of Chariton, Tony Ruepke of Des Moines, his children, Sophiee and Syiless Ruepke, of Chariton, and their mother Ashley of Cresco, his significant other and children, Amy Beliel, Baleigh and Addie of Chariton, his brothers, Scott Edwards of Pheonix, Arizonia, Blake Dugger, of Albuquerque, NM, Julian (Robin) Herrera, Joshua Herrera, of Chariton, Caleb Mumford of Chariton, his sisters, Summer (Luke) Evans, Haley (Dylan) Mumford of Chariton, aunt, uncles, cousins, several nieces and nephews and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Shawn is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruepke and Adams, his cousin Gabe Ruepke.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa. Visitation will be held 9-11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be held following the funeral at the Chariton Cemetery in Chariton, Iowa. Pastor David Hobbs will be Officiating the funeral. Serving as Pallbearers are Julian Herrera, Joshua Herrera, Corey Conrad, Brad Mundy, Tim Ruepke, Casey Slack.
