Ruth Harriet (Lord) Littleton, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Ruth was born on August 16, 1935 in Fredrick, Iowa to George Curtis Lord and Cordia Olive (Morgan) Lord. She attended Hickory Point School.
Ruth was married in 1957 and moved to Rock Island, Illinois. After the death of her first husband she moved to Millerton, Iowa. In September, 1978 Ruth married Marvin (Darl) Littleton and spent many good years together. Darl passed away on December 8, 1993.
Darl worked at Des Moines Register newspaper for 25 years then he retired. Ruth worked at JoAnn’s Café in Millerton until it closed. She enjoyed crocheting and giving away her croched critters. One of her favorite pastime things to do was get together with her neighbors at the Corydon housing and would cook meals for their shared dinners. Ruth was a member of the Methodist Church in Millerton even after moving to Corydon, Iowa in 2016.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, George and Cordia Lord, sisters, Anna Mae, Olive Howie, brother, Harold Frank Lord, three nephews, two great-nephews, one great-niece and one great-great-niece.
She is survived by one sister, Florence Lord residing at the Chariton Specialty Care, several nieces and nephews, Darle Brewer, his sisters and their families, and many other family and friends. Also her beloved dog Max. On line condolences may be made at www.fieldingfuneralhome.com.
