Roberta (Bobbie) Irene Phillips, age 87, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Vintage Hills in Indianola, Iowa. Bobbie was born on January 3, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary Evelyn Mosher.

Bobbie spent her school years and graduated from Lacona in 1954. She always enjoyed the Annual Alumni Banquet and reuniting with lifetime friends.

In 1954, she was united in marriage to Clifford Phillips. Bobbie and Cliff raised their family in Chariton, Iowa. They were later divorced.

Bobbie went on to meet her long time companion Jerry Wasson. They camped many years at Rathbun Lake and never missed a year camping at the Iowa State Fair.

Bobbie had a long career in the data processing department at the Hy-Vee Corporate Office in Chariton and to West Des Moines when the corporate office moved. She was a hard worker, dedicated employee and was always ready to have fun with her co-workers. She retired with over thirty years of service.

Bobbie loved her large family and took great joy with every new baby she welcomed into the family,

She is survived by her children, Tom (Cindy) Phillips, Mary Allen, Paula (Joel) Ryan, Laurie (Guy) Saunders and Clayel (Lori) Phillips. Also survived by her sisters,, Kay Johnson of Chariton, IA , Sue Fouch of Winterset, IA, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at a later date at the Newbern Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Iowa State Fair Foundation.

Honorary Pallbearers are Charley Phillips, Troy Phillips, Joe Wisniewski, Ben Phillips and Clint Saunders.
