Robert Dean “Bob”  Glasscock, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at The Village in Indianola, Iowa. Bob was born on July 4, 1934 in Clarion, Iowa to Buford M. and Ethel (Hogle) Glasscock. He lived in Lucas, Iowa growing up and graduated from Lucas High School.

On October 31, 1951, Bob married Phyllis Ann Mumford in Lucas, Iowa. To this union, two children were born, Ruth Ann and Robert Eugene. Bob was self-employed. They lived in Des Moines, Waukee, then Truro where they lived until their health declined. He lost the love of his life on July 21, 2024.

Bob was involved with the Truro community, he had been the mayor and on the Truro City Council before he fully retired to spend more time with his family. He enjoyed yardwork, going golfing, camping and traveling. As long as he was with his  “sweetie” he was happy.  Bob  loved to relax sitting in his chair, petting his beloved cat on his lap and listening to him purr.

He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Ann Glasscock, his son, Robert Eugene (Butch) Glasscock, his brother, Buford L. Glasscock, and his parents, Buford M. and Ethel (Hogle) Glasscock.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Ruth Ann Glasscock of Urbandale, IA, his granddaughters, Andrea (Tony) Pauly of Davenport, IA and Erica (Paul) Kuempel of Cedar Falls, IA and three great-grandsons.

Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Lucas County, under the direction of Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa.
