In Loving Memory of Richard Brewer
June 24, 1934 – June 26, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and much love that I announce the passing of my father, Richard Brewer, who passed away on June 26, 2026, in Marion, Iowa, at the age of 92.

Richard lived a long and meaningful life defined by service, hard work, and devotion to family. He graduated from Chariton High School in 1952 and carried the values of dedication and perseverance throughout his life.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army, continuing a life of responsibility and commitment to others.

Following his military service, Richard worked as a farmer, building a life through determination and care for the land. He later worked as a truck driver for Hy-Vee, where he continued to demonstrate the strong work ethic that defined him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Brewer and Martha (Wauneta) Brewer; his beloved wife, Carolyn Brewer; his son, Kevin Brewer; and his ex-wife, Eloise Harvey.

In his later years, Richard was lovingly cared for at Winslow House in Marion, Iowa, and remained close to his daughter, Kerry Brewer, sharing time, memories, and the comfort of family.

Richard is lovingly survived by his daughter, Kerry Brewer; grandchildren, Bailey (Corey) Symonds and Chris Brewer; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Dayley, and Roman, who will carry forward his memory and the love he shared throughout his life.

Richard will be remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, loyalty, and deep love for his family—but also for his sense of humor. Dad was a jokester who loved to tease and make people laugh. His playful spirit, quick wit, and ability to bring smiles to those around him will be remembered just as much as his hard work and devotion to family.

He leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, laughter, and enduring family values that will continue for generations.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest peacefully, Dad. You will be deeply missed.
