Ray H. Mattson was born August 3, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence Mattson and Pauline Vanora Mattson.  On June 1, 1950, Ray married Donna Johnson in Des Moines, Iowa, and they were happily married for over 63 years until Donna's death February 5, 2015, in Chariton, Iowa.  Ray and Donna farmed north of Chariton, Iowa for over 50 years and raised five children, Nanette Mattson Smith, Mark Mattson, Ted Mattson, Laura Mattson Heaton and Roxanne Mattson Weiss, deceased.  Ray is survived by Nanette and Steve Smith, Mark and Teresa Mattson, Ted and Kris Mattson, and Laura and Rod Heaton, and ten grandchildren Spencer Smith, Lana Smith Geimer, Adam Smith, Becky Mattson, Ashley Mattson, Stephanie Weiss Radek, Kurt Weiss, Klyar Mattson, Rachael Heaton and Alexis Mattson and three great grandchildren Colin and Maya Smith and Liam Mattson and many nieces and nephews.  Ray will be greatly missed.
