Phyllis Ann (Mumford) Glasscock, 91, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Brio Wesley Life Community Health in Johnston, Iowa. Phyllis was born on May 29, 1933 in Lucas, Iowa to Theodore Thomas Mumford and Carol Marie (Anderson) Mumford. She and her family lived in Lucas, Iowa growing up. Phyllis graduated from the Lucas High School in 1951.

On October 31, 1951, She was united in marriage to Robert Dean Glasscock in Lucas, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Ruth Ann and Robert Eugene. They lived in Waukee, Des Moines and finally Truro. Phyllis worked in the office for Hy-line International as payroll personnel. On January 1, 1996 she retired.

Phyllis had a very kind heart. She was dedicated to her family, they were the love of her life and her first priority.  Phyllis always put others before herself, with volunteering where ever she was needed. She loved people and would do anything to help out.  Phyllis would rescue stray cats that would come around. She loved to read, she was always surrounded by books. She enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Dean Glasscock of Truro, IA, her daughter, Ruth Ann Glasscock, of Urbandale, IA, her granddaughters, Andrea (Tony) Pauly of Davenport, IA, Erica (Paul) Kuempel of Cedar Falls, IA and 3 great-grandsons, Kai, Kade and Bryce.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Carol Mumford, her son Robert Eugene (Butch) Glasscock, her brother, Duane T. Mumford.
