Paul Douglas Snook peacefully passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at his home in Derby, Iowa at the age of 53 years. Paul was born on December 29, 1964 in Leon, Iowa to James and Anita Snook.
Paul attended school at Mormon Trail Community School, graduating in 1983.. After graduation, he attended college at South West Community College located in Creston, Iowa for auto body and mechanic skills. He was employed with Simpson College, located in Indianola, Iowa. Paul was the head caretaker of the Athletic Building on campus , until his car accident in 1994.
Paul loved watching the Hawkeyes play ball, Nascar races, and playing cribbage with his brother, Jeff. He was known for his positive outlook on life and was quite the prankster, according to the nurses he had encountered.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Frances Snook and Vernie and Martha Greer.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Anita Snook; two brothers, Jeff (Shelly) Snook of Carlisle, Iowa and Steve (Lisa) Snook of Corona, California; his nieces and nephews, Jacob, Joshua (Dina), Joseph, Brianna, Adam (Samantha), Kelsie and Brandon Snook; his great nieces and nephews, Alexander, Jaxon, Hunter, Kennedy, and Steven Snook; and many relatives and close family friends.
A “Big, Thank-You”, to all the Circle of Friends staff, for the wonderful care they had given him over the years. Also, his close friends, Jeff Hall, Kelly Mundt, and Julie Watt who were always there for Paul.
