Pat L (Pollitt) Evans

Patricia Evans, age 96 of Lucas departed this life on December 27, 2021 at Chariton Specialty Care. 
Patricia Louise Pollitt was born on March 4, 1925, to Pauline and Morris Pollitt in the little town of Lucas, Iowa. Her family moved to Amelia, Ohio when she was 9 months old. They lived with her Grandma and Grandpa Pollitt until moving back to a farm home in Lucas in 1939. She graduated from Chariton High School in 1943.
Following high school, Pat worked in the office of Johnson Machine Works in Chariton, J.C. Penny in Chariton, and the Internal Revenue Service in Des Moines.
Pat was united in marriage to Jay B. Evans on February 14, 1948 at the Lucas Presbyterian Church. Their Marriage was blessed with five children, Bill, Donna, Debbie, Jay, and Margie.
Pat was an active member of the Lucas Presbyterian Church serving on the church council and teaching Sunday School. She was also on the Lucas Betterment Committee where she was treasurer for many years. Pat enjoyed serving others and helped with many community dinners and church functions. 
Pat's greatest joy was being with her family. She especially loved the time spent with her grandkids and great-grandkids! 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jay B., brothers Frank and Ralph Pollitt, and daughter Margie. 
Left to honor her memory are her son Bill and wife Lori Evans of Lucas, daughters Donna Evans of Ottumwa, and Debbie Evans of Chariton, son Jay Evans of Leon, grandchildren: Crystal, Nicole, Carmen, Bradley, Shannon, Jaqueline, Michael, and eight great-grandchildren. 
Following the service, interment is in Chariton Cemetery.
