Opal Sharp

Opal Sharp, 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at her home with family by her side.  Opal was born on March 28, 1938 in Lucas, Iowa to John Wesley and Ocie Edna (Gooding) Beals.

On December 24, 1969, She was united in marriage to Henry A. Sharp.  To this union were born three children, John, Joe, and Judy.  Henry brought three children into the marriage, Merlin, Karen, and Kevin.  Opal enjoyed being a homemaker and being able to stay home to take care of all the children.  Opal and her family lived in Lucas all of their lives.  In September of 2007, Opal lost her husband Henry.   

Opal loved to bake, spend time gardening, and bird watching was a relaxing time for her.  Most important part was she  loved spending time with her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. The goodness and willing to help her family in time of need will never be forgotten.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents John and Ocie Beals, husband Henry, her brothers Paul ,Orin (Toots), and Bobby Beals, sister Alberta Beals and grand-daughter Katelyn Sharp.

She is survived by her children John Sharp of Chariton, Joe Sharp of Lucas, Judy (Sharp) Gwinn of West Des Moines, step-children Merlin Sharp of Kansas, Karen Masuch of Humeston, Kevin Sharp of Chariton, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Opal will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Grimes Cemetery in Lucas, Iowa.  On line condolences may be directed to www.fieldingfuneralhomes.com.
