Norval Lowe died Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Lucas County Hospital at the age of 88 years old.
Norval was born in Montezuma, Iowa, May 6, 1933, to the parents James Lowe and James Gertrude Hutchinson.
Norval graduated from Grinnell high school in 1951, he was very active in sports and exceled at basketball, was fortunate enough to go to state with the Grinnell high school basketball team.
Norval managed two grocery stores and was a editor of the Chariton Newspaper for many years. He was active in many organizations in Chariton. Norval loved golf and you could usually find him in his spare time on the County Club Golf course.
In his retirement years he got to enjoy the love of golf with friends and family. And he enjoyed a game of cards with friends.
Norval spent the last few years living at the Homestead in Chariton. He will miss his many friends there.
Norval is survived by daughters, Cindy Vanderpol, Jackie Althof, Rawnene Shunk, and son, Rick Shunk, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Norval was preceded in death by his parents, son , Steve Lowe, brothers, Duane Lowe, Sam Byers, Wayne Byers.
Norval will be missed.
A celebration of life for Norval Lowe will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to services at the funeral home.
