Marilyn Maxine (James) McBee, 87, passed away on February 11, 2025 at her home in Chariton, Iowa. Marilyn was born on April 19, 1937, in Chariton, Iowa to Herbert Orin and Hazel Lavina (Crooks) James.

On May 25, 1957, she was united into marriage with Billy Duane McBee. To this union four children were born, Brent, Julie, Kevin and Linda. They raised their children in Chariton while Marilyn worked at the VA Hospitals in Knoxville as a nurse until she retired.  She also sold Tupperware and was a boy scout leader. Marilyn enjoyed going camping, fishing, traveling with her family and going to the Casino’s. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Hazel James, her husband, Billy, her son, Brent , her brother, Darl James, her brother-in-law, Richard Potter.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Julie Aquino of Arkansas, Kevin McBee of Arizona and Linda McBee of Iowa, her grandchildren, Brad McBee, Heather McBee, Afton McCarty, Adam McBee, Brittany Valenzuela, Billie (Sam) Slager, Brandon Aquino, her great-grandchildren, Eric McBee, Claire McBee and Carson McBee, her siblings, Lois Wignall, Ron (Susan) James, Doris  Potter, Vernon (Linda) James, Gary (Susie) James.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2025 at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Visitation will be held one hour before service at the funeral home. Interment will be following the service at the Chariton Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dennis St. Lawrence. Pallbearers are Kevin McBee, Bradley McBee, Adam McBee, Eric McBee, Jeff Wignall and Steve Wignall.
