Lynn Kae (Davenport) Rhoades, 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton, IA. Lynn was born on January 18, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jean and Melvina (Bemisdarfer) Davenport. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. Lynn also was a member of the Christian Church in Des Moines, Iowa.
On March 16, 1967, she was united in marriage to the love of her life and best friend Thomas Stephen Rhoades in Kansas City, Kansas. To this union five children were born, Vienna, Julianna, Mathew, Michael, and Tommy. Later they moved to Chariton, IA to start a business and raise their family.
From 1985 through 2007, Lynn and Tom owned and ran Rickey’s Fun Stop Café on the square in Chariton, Iowa. She loved working with her husband in the Café. She was like a second mother to most who enjoyed playing games and eating the great food. Lynn loved her animals, horses, cats and dog. They moved to their farm so she could enjoy as many animals as she wanted. She liked to watch football especially when her Minnesota Vikings were playing. Lynn was all about her family they were the most important part of her life.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Tom, daughters, Vienna (Tom) Briner, Julianna (Ben) Larman, grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, and Josh Christensen, Vance Rhoades and Megan Curl, great-grandchildren, Leah Gwen and Bryn Yossarian Christensen, sister Diana Davenport.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Melvina Davenport, her sons, Mathew, Michael, and Tommy Rhoades. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. On line condolences may be left at www.fieldingfuneralhome.com.
