Loretta M. (Hoover) Callison

Loretta Marie (Hoover) Callison, who passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, was born Nov. 4, 1923 to John Davis Hoover and Florence Elizabeth Wohlwend Hoover in Elkhart, Polk County, Iowa.  The oldest child of eleven.

Loretta lived in and attended school in Des Moines.  After graduation she worked for Dahl's Food Store ending at the West Des Moines Store.  She lived in West Des Moines with the love of her life, Don Wambold who passed away in 1981.  She worked for Dahl's most of her adult life retiring to Derby, Iowa to be close to her parents.

Loretta is survived by four brothers John (Barb) Haugland of Solon, Iowa; Ron (Barb) Hoover of Russell, Iowa; Doyle (Janet) Hoover of Chariton, Iowa and Kenneth Hoover of Chariton: two sisters Betty Bassett of Knoxville, Iowa and Vivian Shrader of Warsaw, Missouri and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents John and Florence Hoover, partner Don Wambold, two brothers Keith Hoskins of Risen, Arkansas and Vern Hoover of Chariton, Iowa; two sisters Sandy Rice of Longview, Washington and Shirley Davis of Knoxville
