Linda Sue (Blanchard) Hilty

Linda Sue (Blanchard) Hilty, age 75 of Centerville, Iowa, passed away February 8, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Linda was born in Centerville, Iowa on March 23, 1947, the daughter of Alva and Georgetta ‘Georgie’ (Woodard) Blanchard. She attended college at Indian Hills and graduated with a degree in drafting. She worked at Wells Manufacturing for many years. She enjoyed reading in her free time.

Linda was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Centerville for many years. She loved her church family very much and always felt bad when she had to miss a service.

Linda had unconditional love for everyone. It did not matter to her who you were or what you had done. She would stick by your side. She spent her life always trying to be there for anyone and everyone who needed it. There was no getting away from her without her getting her hugs in. It didn’t matter if she just met you, she had to have a hug before you left.

Linda is survived by her three sisters, Vivian Williams of Topeka, Kansas, Lenore Blanchard of Moravia, Iowa, and Anna Louise Carter (Dennis) of Bloomfield, Iowa; her two sons, Tim Hilty of Moravia, Iowa and Troy Hilty of Numa, Iowa; grandchildren, LaTeka Wright of Des Moines, Iowa, Heather Lear (Kenny) of Mims, Florida, Holly Hilty (Dennis Carroll) of Christmas, Florida, Halley Breese of Numa, Iowa, Thad Haskell of Centerville, Iowa, Mason Haskell of Iowa City, Iowa and TJ Hilty of Centerville, Iowa as well as many great grandchildren who all loved their GG very much. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends.

Linda was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles R. Ricker and Jack Blanchard; a sister, Georgia Clair Rose; as well as a great granddaughter, Mckinley Breese.
