Letitia E. Willett Obituary

Letitia Ellen Willett, 69, passed away August 27, 2017 at the Circle of Life Legacy Lodge in Chariton, Iowa.

Letitia was born August 23, 1948 to John DeWester and Rebecca Florenee (Ross) DeWester in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Letitia grew up working in the tobacco fields at a young age, later attending Indian Hills Community College for child development courses. She was a teacher at Head Start Preschool for over 15 years, volunteering her time as well. She loved being around people and living life to the fullest.

Letitia admired nature, flowers, trees, sunsets and sunrises. She gave special consideration to animals showing them love. She collected angel figurines, spent lots of time reading books, putting together puzzles, playing cards, playing bingo and lottery tickets. She often watched talent shows. She loved her music and could dance for hours. Teaching and babysitting was something she valued and changed many of the lives of the children she was around.  Her family was her greatest treasure and very important to her but most of all she loved being a mother to her children. She looked forward to the holiday dinners, BBQ’s and picnics, spending as much time as possible with family.

Letitia is preceded in death by her parents, step father Angelo Vase, Uncle Don Slate, Aunt LaVerne Slate, Sister Shirley DeWester Baxter, Niece Alice Kelly, Niece Arnel DeWester, Great Niece Shirley Dicky, Great Nephew Jessie Smith, Great Nephew John Rubio, Great Niece Erica, Step daughter Jody Smyser Lane.
