Lavata H. Stout

Lavata H. (Brownlee) Stout was born December 30, 1933 to Roy M. and Alice A. (Wilson) Agan in Chariton, Iowa. She passed away, Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Norwalk Nursing Home and Rehab located in Norwalk, Iowa at the age of 85 years.

Lavata went to school in the Chariton area and graduated from the Chariton Community High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Oliver F. Brownlee, July 25, 1953 in Chariton, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Tom, Sandra, and Gerald. Her husband, Oliver passed away on July 29, 1985. Lavata was united in marriage to Ray Stout , August10, 1990 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Ray passed away, July 1, 2006.

Lavata lived in various towns located in Iowa, such as Primghar, IA, Moravia, IA,  Kellogg, IA, Oskaloosa, IA and Norwalk, IA. In her spare time, she liked knitting, quilting and spending quality time with her family. She worked as an Insurance administrator at the Grinnell Insurance Company for  many years. She enjoyed working at the Back Creek Marina at Lake Rathbun while living in Moravia.

Lavata was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Alice Agan and her husbands, Oliver Brownlee and Ray Stout. She is survived by her children, Tom (Sue) Brownlee of West Des Moines, Iowa, Sandra Brownlee of Norwalk, Iowa and Gerald (Babs) Brownlee of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
