John Andrew Ferrick

John Andrew Ferrick, son of Andrew Ferrick and Nelly Mae Probasco Ferrick was born on November 24, 1949 in Chariton, Iowa and lived most of his life here.  He passed away on March 13, 2021 at Chariton Nursing Facility at the age of 71 years.  His health deteriorated following a bout of the Corona Virus.  He was a long time client of Tenco services and had done janitorial work for some of the local businesses.    He was a young man who was your friend for life if you treated him with kindness.   He never rode a bicycle or drove, but walked from one end of town to the other numerous times a day and had a wave and a big smile when meeting someone he knew, and appreciated the offer of a ride to work for the early morning jobs on cold days.  He was preceded in death by all grand parents and his parents, Andrew Ferrick and Nellie (Probasco) Wright, his step-father Kenneth Wright and his brother-in-law Gerald Curfman.  He is survived by his only sibling, Sandra Curfman of Des Moines, IA, and one aunt Anna Ruble of Chariton and numerous cousins.
