Jeanie Johansen

Jeanie Johansen, 93, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Chariton Specialty Care.  Jeanie was born January 25, 1928 in Little Rock, Arkansas to George and Ona (Gire) Bryant. Later her family moved to Kansas City.

She lived most of her adult life in Chariton, Iowa where she raised her two boys, Al and Dave Rich.  Jeanie worked at Davis Paint, Regal Stamp, Coast to Coast, Ben Franklin and was a special employee at True Value.  She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the quilting club.  Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, traveling to Arizona, Canada and the East Coast.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ona Bryant, her sister, Chloe Murphy, husbands, Albert Harry Rich and LeRoy Johansen.  She is survived by her sons, Al (Barb) and Dave (Colleen) Rich of Chariton, IA, grandsons, Shawn (Sara) Rich, Andy (Dee) Rich, Luke (Angela) Rich of Chariton, IA, John (Ana) Rich of Pinehurst, NC, granddaughters Jenn Rich (Kirk Talley) of Fairfield, IA, Sarah Rich (Matt Cato) of Winterpark, Fl, thirteen grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.  Memorials may be directed to Pin Oak Marsh.
