Janice Kay Mundell

Janice Kay Mundell, 70, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, in Cortlandt, New York after 6 years of battling Dementia.   Janice was born January 19, 1951, to Jay and Maxine (Bass) Mundell, in Marshalltown, Iowa.  She lived her childhood in Iowa where she attended and graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1969. She later went on to attend college at Westchester Community College in New York where she received her Associates Degree.  As education was very important to Janice, she was determined to receive her Bachelor’s degree and did so while working full-time.

Janice lived most of her adult life in Yorktown, NY, working as an accountant and raising two boys on her own, Travis and Ty Healey. Her family was very important in her life and Janice was a proud grandma of three granddaughters, Camryn, Quinn, and Maeve.  She also was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Yorktown.  Janice was very active in her church community.  She was faithful to the Lord and his teachings. 

Janice was an avid gardener. Her hobbies were quilting and baking for her family.  She enjoyed going on walks and loved her cats, Jack and Mary as well as Travis and Ty’s childhood dog, Scotty.

She is survived by her two sons, Travis (Jennifer) Healey of Mahopac, NY, Ty Healey, her three granddaughters, Camryn, Quinn and Maeve Healey, and her two best friends, Christine Lazarus and Julie Moulic.  Janice will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
