Janette (Dyer) Paige (Parson) was born February 27th, 1938, to Glayde and Bernice Dyer of Allerton, Iowa. She spent her early years North of Promise City, where she attended Promise City and Seymour Schools till the age of 15. Her parents moved to Chariton, Iowa where she graduated with the class of 1956. She went to work in Des Moines, IA. Then moved back to Chariton working at Morgan’s Cafe. While working there she met the love of her life Keith Paige. They married September 21, 1957, at the Methodist Church in Chariton. The next year they moved to Hampshire, Illinois where Keith worked with his brother Bob on construction. Their first child Mike was born there and later they returned to Chariton.
During those years, their family grew, making a total of 5 children. Janette was a good mother taking care of her children and loving each of them. She began working for Regal Stamp in 1967 and retired in 1993. Her husband Keith drove a truck for Hy-Vee food stores until his sudden death in 1987. What a loss for the whole family. Janette loved being outdoors, working on her flowers and watching her Hummingbirds. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and friends, attending church for many years.
In 1995 she met and married Victor Parson. They spent a lot of time traveling to Colorado, Indiana, and Ohio visiting Victor’s daughters, spouses and grandchildren. Victor and Janette spent 6 years together as loving mates and friends sharing children and grandchildren from both families until his passing in 2001.
Janette passed away on January 20th, 2025, in Chariton. She is survived by her sons, Mike (Denise), David (Tammy), Steven (Kendra)and her daughters Kathy Fellman, Kim (John) Glazebrook. She is also survived by grandsons; Anthony (Gina) Brown, Justin Paige, Brett (Kari) Paige, Brad (Meg) Paige, Blake (Haley) Paige, Kyle Paige, Jesse Glazebrook. Her granddaughters; Ashley (Justin) Paige, Stephanie (Tyler) Vasques and Kelsey Glazebrook. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Cassie and Camryn Brown, Sophia (Mason) Paige, Vadia and Tie-Lynn Vasques, Brody and Grayson Paige and Bennett and Eli Paige. She is also survived by her brother; Ray (Jodi) of Des Moines, brother-in-law; Ron (Diane) of Burlington, sister-in-law; Wretha Paige of Chariton, sister-in-law; Sandra Harrison of Nevada, sister-in-law; Debbie Dyer of Chariton. As well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Janette’s joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will all cherish the memories they had with her.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents, Glayde and Bernice Dyer, her husbands, Keith Paige and Victor Parson, her brothers, Floyd and Clarence and sister Darlene Annee and her son-in-law, Paul Fellman.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held following the service at Chariton Cemetery. Officiating the service is Loran Whitlatch. Pallbearer will be Anthony Brown, Justin Paige, Jesse Glazebrook, Brett Paige, Brad Paige, Blake Paige, Kyle Paige.
In leu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lucas County Humane Society in Janette’s name.
