Glenys Marie Wheeldon

Glenys Marie Boston was born to Carl Homer and Alpha Cleo (Powell) Boston on September 20, 1938 at their home in Humeston, Iowa.  She went to see her Lord on February 7, 2020 at the Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.

Glenys grew up in the Humeston and Cambria area.  She attended the Cambria schools until her junior year when the family moved to Lucas.  She graduated from Lucas High School in 1956.  She worked in Chariton at the Home Health Agency, then as a receptionist at the Lucas County Hospital before she moved to Des Moines.  In Des Moines, she had a long career working as a bookkeeper for Blue Cross/Blue Shield before she retired for health reason.

Glenys was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Alpha Boston, brothers Marvin Reid Boston, Charles Dale Boston, and infant brother Carl Homer Boston Jr. and husbands Ray Norman Gwinn, Charles Alfred Lambirth, and James David Egbert. Left to mourn her passing are her husband Albert Aggart Wheeldon of Des Moines, sons Ray Norman Gwinn, Jr. (Marie) of Des Moines, Larry Edwin Gwinn of Marshalltown, and Ricky Allen Gwinn (Heather), of Des Moines, stepdaughter Sherrey Lynn and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Highland Park Christian Church located in Des Moines, Iowa with Pastor Heather Wachendorf officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 also at the Highland Park Christian Church. Interment will be held in the spring at Humeston Cemetery, Humeston, Iowa.
