Freda Ferne (Anderson) Masters, daughter of Joseph A. and Bertha Mae (Haltom) Anderson was born on April 6, 1917, in Lucas County IA. She had spent the last 4 months at the legacy Lodge and 1 month at Care Initiative where the Lord called this precious jewel home at 2:44 a.m. July 30, 2020. Praise God She’s home in Heaven today! She has lived a consistent Christian life since May 6, 1954, when she was saved in a Revival at the Whitebreast Church and was sanctified later.
Ferne was a charter member of the Bible Holiness Church in Chariton. She attended faithfully until her health failed. She has served as an Elder, secretary and Sunday School teacher. She was always willing to help whenever and wherever. She and Dad hosted many preachers and Evangelists in their home.
As a child she attended school in Lacona and Chariton, IA, graduating from Chariton High School in 1934. She worked at various jobs until marriage.
Ferne was united in marriage to Burdette R. Masters on October 24, 1937, in Princeton, MO. To this union were born 6 children: Terry, Karen, Rodney, Marilyn Diane, Lanny and Danny.
Ferne was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; infant daughter Marilyn Diane; son Terry; 2 grandsons, Terry Allen and Dennis; great grandson Kyle Wiedner; great, great grandson Mason Richard: siblings and their spouses: Vera (Henry) Godlove, Virgil (Kathleen) Anderson, Verl (Louise) Anderson, Wanda (Dale) Moss, Arlene (Raymond) Stout, Kenneth Anderson, Ann (Rex) Davis, Louise (Ted) Haskins, infant sister Leona and little brother Leonil, 6 nephews and 2 nieces.
Those left to cherish her wonderful life are her daughter Karen (Bob) McDonald; sons Rodney (Marilyn) Masters, Lanny (Linda) Masters, Danny (Becky) Masters; daughter-in-law Charlotte Masters; sister-in-law Ruth Anderson of Boone, IA; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Jeanette Masters of Ft. Collins, CO.; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
