Eugene Wright

Eugene Wright Sr. was born April 18, 1953 to Elmer and Obera (Witt) Wright at Dyersburg, Tennessee. He and his eight siblings was raised in Humboldt, Tennessee.  Gene decided to move his way to Chariton, Iowa. He loved cars and working on them.  He decided to make money at something he loved. He worked on cars for many years as long as his health would allow him to.

On June 21, 2002, Gene and Debbie Musick  united in marriage at Trenton, Tennessee. They both came in this marriage with children which then became a family. In this family, daughters, Brenda McLeod, Eugene Wright Jr., Laurie (Musick) Boggs, Lisa Musick, Madison Smith.

Gene enjoyed company, they would sit around drinking coffee and  he would tell off color jokes and discuss the president.  During the summer months, Gene, Debbie and Lisa would go to the Soda Pop Saloon to listen to live music while Debbie and Lisa would dance.  He also enjoyed life’s finer things like fishing, camping, smoking cigarettes, Facebooking and going to auctions.

On November 13, 2021, Gene passed away at the Knoxville Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Obera Wright, his brothers, Jerald, JC, Emit Wright and his sisters, Vanny May and Thelma Wright. He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Musick) Wright of Knoxville, Iowa, his children, Brenda J. (Wright) McLoed of Hamilton, Georgia, Eugene Wright Jr., of Almo, Kentucky, Laurie (Musick) Boggs of Ankeny, Iowa, Lisa Musick of Chariton, Iowa, Madison Smith of Gainesville, Texas, his sisters, Mary Ann Wright of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Maryland (Wright) Willis of Humboldt, Tennessee and Virginia (Wright) Elmore of Dyersburg, Tennessee.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date in the spring of 2022 in Tennessee.
