Deloris “Dee” (Barton) Smith, age 89 of Millerton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Southern Hills Specialty Care Center in Osceola, Iowa on Friday, April 26, 2024. 

Dee was born on August 7, 1934, in Millerton, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Eva (Adams) Barton.  She was raised in the Millerton area and attended the local schools.  During her retirement years she enjoyed spending time at her Florida home returning for gardening season back in Iowa.  She enjoyed working in her garden, quilting, crocheting and loved to travel; especially taking cruises. 

Dee is survived by her children; Sherry Wyatt, Barbara (Sam) Halland, Charlie McGee, Mark McGee and Carol Orman along with her 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, William “Bill” Barton, Jerry “Fuzz” Barton and Kenneth “Grump” Barton. 

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Millerton Church on Friday, May 10, 2024.  Interment will follow at the Sharon Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be given to the family’s choice and left at or mailed to the Fielding Funeral Home.
