David W. Shore, Sr.

David William Shore, Sr. was born on June 9, 1950 to Alfred and Ruby (Martinache) Shore in Iowa City, Iowa. He passed away, Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Accura Health Center located in Pleasantville, Iowa at the age of 67 years.

David grew up in the Chariton area and attended the Chariton Community Schools. He graduated with the Class of 1969 from the Chariton Community High School. He continued his education at the Indian Hills Community College. David was united in marriage, April 8, 1978 to Fern Spencer in Chariton, Iowa. Three children were born from this union, Stacey Ann, David William, Jr. and Monica Louise.

David worked at the Johnson Machine Works, located in Chariton, Iowa as a welder. He worked at the Johnson company for thirty years and then retired. In David’s spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. His other hobbies included going fishing, hunting, and camping as he loved the outdoors. David also cherished times spent with his family and close friends.

David was preceded in death his parents, Alfred David and Ruby Opal (Martinache) Shore; his sister’s JoAnn Shore and Patricia Lynn Shore; and his brother, Phillip Dean Shore.

He is survived by his children Stacey (Dave) Warren of Norwalk, Iowa, David (Kaylene) Shore of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and Monica (Brandon) Rinehart of Bondurant, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jackson and Kaitlyn Warren, Emily and Elizabeth Rinehart, and David Shore; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
