Davadean Johnston passed away on September 24, 2022 at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton, Iowa.
Davadean was born on May 16, 1930 to David Hartley and Hazel (Smith) Hartley of Melcher Iowa. She graduated from Chariton High School with the class of 1948. Davadean married Jim (Sugar) Johnston of Chariton on July 17, 1964. They were married for 58 years. Davadean had three children, Janis Weed, Bob Darrah and David Johnston. She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Davadean was a homemaker her whole life and was an avid reader. She was a frequent visitor of the Chariton Public Library.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Hazel, step-father, John Nichols, sister Annette Pardoe and daughter Karen Kay Darrah. She is survived by her husband Jim, her children, Janis (Mike) Weed of Corpus Cristi, TX, Bob Darrah of St. Joe, MO and David (Kristine) Johnston of Hudson, WI, four grandchildren, Cody (Heather) Darrah of Kirksville, MO, Derek (Erin) Johnston of Ellsworth, WI, Marissa and Marly Johnston of Hudson, WI. She also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Sadie, Scheamus & Sawyer of Kirksville, MO.
