Crystal Jeanne Andre

Crystal Jeanne Andre was born September 20, 1971 in Des Moines, Iowa. She lived in various institutions since she was a young child due to her disabilities. Mosaic of South Central Iowa was home to Crystal for approximately 20 years. In 2014 Crystal moved in with Ron and Shelley Sadler and instantly became part of their family. The Sadler children and grandchildren loved Crystal and included her in all family gatherings. Crystal spent time sitting with the family and listening to stories, chatting her few words, and laughing with everyone.Crystal would often say, “take a walk”, “cookie” and “eat”. Her friends always made sure she had plenty of cookies. Crystal also enjoyed the family dogs, Griffin and Glory. She would take the dog’s toys and play fetch with them or hide their toys from them.

Crystal attended Cornerstone Community Church where she was loved by so many. She was part of life group and Sunday class. Crystal loved worshipping God with the congregation. She loved the praise and worship music and would clap and jump to show her enjoyment.

Crystal passed away October 16, 2021 at her home. She will be greatly missed by Ron and Shelley, their children and grandchildren, her faith family, and many friends in the Chariton and Osceola areas. 

She was preceded in death by her biological parents, one brother, and one sister.

A “Going Home” celebration will be held in honor of Crystal Tuesday, October 19, 2021 6:30pm at Cornerstone Community Church.

A fund is being established through Cornerstone to be used for an event yet to be determined in memory of Crystal and her love for her community.
