Byron was born in Chariton, Iowa, to Kenneth Wayne and Doris Elaine (Wolett) Clark. He was raised in Derby on a farm east of Derby and graduated from Mormon Trail Community High School in May of 1983. After graduation, he spent most of his life in the Indianola and Ankeny areas. On April 22, 2000, Byron married Ana Espinoza in Des Moines, Iowa. Byron worked in construction for many years and eventually started his own business; Clark Construction. In 2018, he was forced to retire due to his cancer diagnosis.

He was a member of the Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, the BNFS Model Train Club, and the DM Model Aires AMA Club. Byron built an impressive collection of 3-D wooden models and enjoyed barrel racing with his horse, Audrey. He loved hot air balloon and helicopter rides, deer hunting, golfing, flying kites, birdwatching, and a good card game – often with a cat curled up nearby. Byron faced his cancer diagnosis and treatment with quiet strength and courage. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7
