Buddy Gene Conrad

Buddy Gene Conrad 56,  passed away December 5, 2020 at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Buddy was born December 27, 1963 to Merle and Jayne (McMurtrey) Conrad in Algona, Iowa.  He went to elementary school in Williamson, Iowa and graduated from Chariton High School in May of 1982.  Buddy went on to college at Indian Hills, he graduated August of 1983.

 On September 24, 1983, He was united in marriage to Kim Renae McRoberts at Red Haw State Park in Chariton, Iowa.  To this union two sons were born Corey and Dylan.  Buddy and Kim lived most of their  adult life in Chariton, Iowa around their family and friends. They are members of Church of Christ.

In 2018, Buddy and Kim started their own small trucking business, Radboys Trucking LLC.  In 2020, they expanded their business when Corey joined the company as a driver and Dylan helped with bookkeeping advice.

Buddy enjoyed getting to spend time with his friends and family doing many activities including riding his motorcycle, hunting deer, and mushrooms.  He looked forward to the yearly Crabb/Woodside family reunion.  But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids doing anything they asked. He loved having the freedom to be home more often to be with the kids. 

Buddy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vernon and Evelyn Conrad, maternal grandparents, Richard and Helen Stutzman, Frank and Muriel McMurtrey, father-in-law, Eugene McRoberts.  He is survived by his parents Merle and Jayne Conrad of Williamson, IA, his wife, Kim Conrad of Chariton, IA, his sons, Corey (Hailey) Conrad of Bondurant, IA, Dylan Conrad of Grimes, IA, sister, Traci (Gary) Briggs of State Center, IA, grandchildren Charlotte, Avery, Emmett of Bondurant, IA, mother-in-law Beverly McRoberts of Chariton, IA, nieces and nephew Mickelle, Emily, Ayden Malloy of State Center, IA, sister-in-laws, Terry (Vic) Southard of Vallejo, CA, Kathy (Rob) Hamilton of Chariton, IA, Andrea (Jeff) Wesley of Chariton, IA, brother-in-law, Scott (Jo) McRoberts of Knoxville, IA and many aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews that are mourning the loss of a wonderful son, husband, father, uncle and friend.

Memorials can be made to the Lucas County Humane Society/ Food Pantry in Chariton Iowa.
