Billy Gene Williams, 87, passed away October 15, 2017 at the Circle of Life Legacy Lodge in Chariton, Iowa. Billy was born to Theodore and Lydia (Kauble) Williams on February 6, 1930 in Blockton, Iowa. Billy was the oldest of five children.

Billy attended and graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1948. Billy then enlisted in the army in 1949 and served in the Korean War in 1951. Following his discharge, he married Reta Ann Hickok on July 22, 1953. To this marriage was born a son, Theodore Everett and a daughter, Juanita Ann.

Billy was a mechanic for the Chevrolet Garage in Humeston, then a mechanic at a filling station and finally working at Hy-Vee for 21 years in the maintenance department, retiring in 1990. After retirement Billy and Reta enjoyed time with family and friends and wintering in the southwest.  

Preceding Billy in death were his parents, Theodore and Lydia, brother Alva Everett Williams and daughter Juanita Van Horn. Left to cherish his memories are wife Reta, son Ted (Sue) Williams, grandchildren Christine (Lee) Van Steenwyk, Shanna Mauro, Amber (Chris) Mason, Billy Van Horn, Dustin Williams and Dana (Chris) Kelly. Brother James (Dorothy) Williams, sisters Mary Lou (Gary) Flora and Carolyn Sue (Richard) Gerherdt. As well as numerous great-grandchildren, friends and family.
