Billy Duane McBee, 88, passed on December 20, 2021 at 3:04 a.m., at Lucas County Health Center with his family by his side. Billy was born on May 13, 1933 to Frank and Bessie (Duke) McBee in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
On May 25, 1957, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Maxine James in Springfield, Oregon. In 1962, Bill, Marilyn and their two children, Brent and Julie moved to Chariton, Iowa. Here is where Kevin and Linda was born to complete their family.
Bill worked for several places in his life time, the DOT, Morton buildings for Frank Rogers and then handyman jobs he did on his own. He built many decks and other contracting jobs around town.
Bill enjoyed taking care of his home, yard work, fixing things around his home and working in his garden. His true passion was fishing, he held the state record for Big Mouth Bass in 1964. Bill also enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting yearly. He spent a lot of time in his garage with each of his grandchildren doing wood working. Bill love to share his knowledge and many stories with them. He was always able to keep his family in laughter and show his love for each of them. Bill enjoyed time with his family and friends. He and Marilyn loved to travel to visit family in Colorado, Arizona and Oregon. Bill also enjoyed NFL season by playing the Chariton football contest and watching the Chicago Cubs with Marilyn by his side.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bessie McBee, his sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Norbert) Norton, step-brothers Vance McBee, Bud McBee and son Brent McBee.
Bill will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family, sister Norma Conway, niece Staci Kohan, brother Bob McBee, wife Marilyn McBee., daughters, Julie Aquino, Linda McBee, son Kevin McBee, grandchildren, Bradley McBee, Heather McBee, Brandon Aquino, Afton McCarty, Billie Fleckenstein, Adam (Brittany) McBee, great-grandchildren Eric McBee, Claire McBee and Carson McBee.
