Bernard C. Etter

Bernard “Bernie” Carl Etter was born March 22, 1961 at Yocum Hospital in Chariton, Iowa to Jerry Carl Etter and Virginia Ann (Thorne) Etter of Chariton Iowa. He is the eldest of his siblings. Bernie grew up on the country on the family farm. He attended and graduated from Chariton High School. He grew up hunting, trapping and fishing. Also enjoyed mushroom and arrowhead hunting. He worked on his farm with his dad building fence, bailing hay and shelling corn. He spent time fishing in Minnesota with his parents at the cabin and enjoyed his moms cooking. He enjoyed working on the trucks, and volunteered at the vets home in Chariton. He and his soul mate Pam Erskine enjoyed taking trips together and spending time with his dogs Charlie and Deago. He enjoyed telling stories by the fire with his friends in his front yard. He was the kindest soul at heart and was always willingly offered to help anyone. He loved all his nieces, nephews, cousins and made regular phone calls to them just to see how they were doing and he never found it hard to tell you he loved you! He had a special bond with his Aunt Joyce Polo and Niece Rosa Paxton. He is proceeded in death by his father Jerry Carl Etter, many grandparents and close friends. Left to cherish him and his memories are his son Zachary Carl Etter and granddaughter Scarlett Schmidt, Pam Erskine of Creston Ia, mother Virginia Etter, brother Bruce Etter and sister Chris and John Keeler of Chariton. Many close friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
