Barbara Florence (Waggoner) Abrahamson of Williamson, Iowa passed on April 1, 2025 in Chariton, Iowa at 75 years old.

Barb was born on July 9, 1949 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Russell High School in 1968. After high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Army as a nurse, where she helped deliver countless babies. She married her husband, Walter Abrahamson, on September 1, 1972 in Princeton, Missouri.

She attended Iowa Barber College and went on to own multiple salons in Williamson, IA and continued styling clients throughout her life. She was also a devoted homemaker and volunteered as a first responder. Barb loved animals, jewelry, gardening, Christmas, family vacations and being “Nanny” to her many grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her husband Walter Abrahamson (Williamson, IA). Her five children: Michael Abrahamson (Williamson, IA), Joseph (Julie) Abrahamson (Williamson, IA), Troy Abrahamson (Des Moines, IA), Terry Connery (Denver, CO), and Stacey Goben (Williamson, IA.) Her brother Raymond Waggoner (Corydon, IA.) Grandchildren: Hilary, Travis, Joey, Kale (Kelcy), Vada, Elreich, Hunter, Dalton, Madison (Kamren), Warren, Danielle, Denise, and Wyatt. Great-grandchildren: Daphne, Florence, Kenzie, Greta, Lyric, Atlas, Lilliana, Meredith, Neveah and Lennox. As well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her parents Betty and Leo Snakenberg and brother Randy Waggoner.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, followed by her service at 11 a.m. at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa.
