Angela Michelle Leonard was born August 29, 1975 at Lucas County Hospital in Chariton, Iowa to
Michael and Beverley Leonard.
At an early age Angie was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She attended school in Chariton, Albia, and
Ottumwa, until she moved to Children’s Habilitation center at the age of 16, and graduated from Ruby
Van Meter in Des Moines. At the age of 18 she began her long-term residence at the Madrid Home in
Madrid, Iowa.
Angie was preceded in death by her grandparents George Nickel of Corydon, and Jack and Juanita
Leonard, aunt Sue Housman, and infant brother Jacob Leonard of Chariton.
Survivors include her parents Mike and Bev Leonard of Chariton, Grandmother Vera Nickel of Corydon,
brothers William of Des Moines, and Jeremy of Chariton, nieces Alviee Evans and Fayelynn Leonard of
Humeston, Uncle Fred Housman of Omaha, and close friend Penny Emmons of Urbandale.
