Anetus Irene Jones, 96, passed peacefully on Friday, December 06, 2019 at Unity Point Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Anetus was born on September 05, 1923, to Harry and Nellie (Pennington) Fogle. She graduated from Norwood High School, went to junior college in Chariton, Iowa and Anetus received her degree from Drake University.
On August 03, 1947, she was united in marriage to Max Fellow Jones at Norwood United Methodist Church. To this Union were born four daughters, Linda Case of Des Moines, IA, Kathy (Ron) Lilly of Altoona, IA, Karen (Keith) Hamilton of Des Moines, IA and Joyce (Randy) VanderLeest of Woodward, IA. They lived most of their lives in Norwood, IA. Anetus worked as a teacher in Chariton, Lucas, Lacona Elementary Schools until she retired.
Anetus was faithful to the Lord and his teachings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chariton, IA. Anetus was also member of several clubs, Retired Teachers, Delta Cappa Gamma, Chariton Campers Club. Anetus enjoyed quilting, she made one for all of her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, working at the Lucas County 4-H and Iowa State Fair.
Max and Anetus enjoyed wintering in the Apache Junction, Arizona, square dancing, going to the Soda Pop on Saturday evening, and vacationing with her friends. Anetus will always be remembered as being well dressed, it was important to her to look her best every day.
Anetus was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nellie Fogle, her husband Max, siblings Jack (Winfield) Fogle, Ronald Fogle, Vera Eubank, sister-in-laws, Evelyn Fogle, Francis Jones, Marge McFarland, brother-in-laws, Raymond (Nip) Eubank, Donald McFarland, son-in-laws, Kemit Lohner, Mike Case, great grand-daughter Arrow Nebola. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Case, Kathy (Ron) Lilly, Karen (Keith) Hamilton and Joyce (Randy) VanderLeest; eleven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, Twenty-six great grandchildren and five step-great granchildren.
