Jean was born to Earl and Zella Rodgers of Woodburn, IA on November 16, 1923. She was one of eight kids and is survived by her dear sister, Hurmoline Dixon, 93 of Windsor Heights, IA. Jean married the lover of her life in 1941 and went on to celebrate more than 50 years with him before he passed away in 1994. She never stopped missing and loving her sweet, romantic husband and looked forward to the day that she would be reunited with him again in Heaven. Jean was a long-time member of the Community of Christ church and had dedicated her life to the Lord as a very young girl.
Jean is survived by her two sons, Ron (Jan) of Norwalk, IA and Bob (Laurie) of Shawnee, KS. She considered her eldest granddaughter, Michelle (Jeff) Bolton of Gardner, KS, the daughter she never had. To her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, she was lovingly known as "Nanny". Jean loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother and took every opportunity to teach them about her love for Jesus and His saving grace.
Jean was a selfless servant of the Lord who sought opportunities to serve those around her. Whether she was taking a neighbor to the grocery store, babysitting for a young family, or making one of her delicious baked items for a family in need, she was always very generous with her time and talents throughout the entirety of her life.
