Troy Junior Irving, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 at Circle of Life Hospice. Troy was born on January 15th, 1940 in Chariton, Iowa to Troy and Irma (Bingham) Irving.
On September 28th, 1957 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Anne Moon in Russell, Iowa. To this union were born two beautiful daughters, Shelley Raye, and Julie Kaye. Troy worked for his parents at the Farmers Feed and Supply. At the ripe age of 17, he and his brother Fred purchased the business and continued to operate it until the early 1960’s. Troy sold insurance for Life of Kentucky and broke many records. He had a spray painting business and in 1974 built Troy and Carolyn’s LTD to pursue his true passion of playing music.
In 1976, the family moved to Kissimmee, Florida. “The Irving’s” continued to play music several nights a week. Troy opened a used car lot, Country Roads Motors, which he owned and operated until 1998. After the band retired, Troy started a very successful karaoke business, playing many nights around Central Florida, retiring in 2012. In 2014, Troy and Carolyn moved back to their roots to live right across the street from their great grandchildren.
Troy was proceeded in death by his parents, Troy Sr. and Irma (Bingham) Irving; his sister, Fern; and brothers: Fred, Robert, and Kenneth.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his daughters: Shelley (Wayne) Residence and Julie (Tom) Swarthout. Troy will also be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren: Charlie and Chad Stephenson, Johnny (Sabrina) Swarthout and Jenny (Gary) Lewis; and his beloved great-grandchildren: Khloe Stephenson, Lila and Ryker Lewis, Connor Edwards. He is also survived by brother-in-law Chuck (Karen) Moon and sisters–in–law Doris Hayes, Arlene Irving and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services for Troy will be on May 11th with a celebration of life to follow at Carpenter’s Hall. Details will be released at a later date. (Interment Chariton Cemetery)
