I was talking to a friend about our experiences working at Hy Vee when I was a young man today and Mike's name came up. I was saddened to learn that he passed. I was 17 years old when I met Mike as part of the opening of the first Hy Vee in Kansas City. The things I learned about creating a great customer experience for Hy Vee guests has carried on into my professional career almost three decades later. Mike was full of charisma, he was always eager to help someone learn from any experience and he left a lasting impression on anyone that was lucky enough to spend time with him. Thank you Mike for helping myself and so many others create the ground work for life.

Wow !...We lost a "Great One" in losing Mike....Mike and I became Store Managers within a few months of each other and we always had a bond because of that...We talked a lot about things in Hy-Vee and I learned a lot from him.

Mike had "SPUNK"...And he had a lot of it. There were SOOOOOO many fun times over the years with Mike. Thank-You, Mike....

I will always miss you and I will always be glad I knew you...

Rest In Peace Dear Friend...
You are loved and respected by so many people.

My heart is broken and I am sure all of the family feels that way too. Mike was a great guy and a typical Murray. He was a good husband, Father and Grandfather. I was always proud of his success. Mike worked hard for everything he accomplished. As an only child
my Murray cousins were very close to my heart. After my Father was hurt he would get into the car and drive to Newton on several occasions. We all loved Uncle George and Aunt Maxine. I do have fond memories of going to the farm too. We always had a great time there..

I worked with Mike at his first store in Perry, Iowa. Mike was loved by the employees and the customers. We are so sad to hear of his passing. We send our sympathies and prayers to all of his family.

I worked with Mike at Hy-Vee Inc. His first store opening was at Perry, Iowa and I was his accounts payable person at headquarters. Every 4th of July Mike's family(Uncle George & Aunt Maxine) came to my sister's home (Lloyd & Helen Marie Murray) when we were young kids and celebrated with a picnic and "going uptown". Our friendship and family connection was over 60 years. John's brother, Jim Gardner< worked for Mike at Sioux City #2. Not only worked for Mike but became life long friends. Mike worked hard and it paid off over the years. Handsome man and so much fun!! God Bless all of you!!!

My heart aches for Ms. Marsha and the Murray family to lose in death your precious loved one Mr. Mike. Words are so limited that can give comfort, so I would like to share with you beautiful scripture where our heavenly Father, Jehovah God invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Psalm 34:18
None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection.
Our savior, Jesus, promises us at: John 6: 40; "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day".
Jesus also comforts us at: John 5: 28; "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..."
John 11:23-25; "Jesus said to her: "I am the resurrection and the life." The one who exercises faith in me, even tho he dies, will come to life.
I pray that Jesus's promise to reunite us with our loved ones on resurrection day will carry you through the difficult days ahead and gradually replace your tears of grief with tears of joy as you reflect on your precious memories of happier times with Mr. Mike. The family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences. Feel free to me at my email address: myranj@centurytel.net
