Maureen Elaine Fielding

Maureen Elaine Galey, 68, daughter of Carl Delbert Galey and Kathryn Mae Howe passed from this life on November 21, 2019 at Scottish Rite Park in Des Moines, Iowa. Preceded by her parents, brother Mark, and sister Nancy. She is survived by her husband, Clark, of 44 years. Children Amanda Fielding Bell (Erick) of West Des Moines, Jessica Fielding of Sioux City, Nathan Fielding of San Francisco, and Austin Fielding of Houston, Texas, five grandchildren Liam, Owen, Maren McKenna and Landen and Harper Bell.

Maureen was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Centerville, Iowa on November 15, 1951. She grew up in Centerville and lived there until 1968. She then moved to Chariton, Iowa. After graduating in 1970 from Chariton High School she attended Iowa State University. Following her time in Ames she went to school at American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. Following graduation she worked as an administrative secretary to the president of Wright Tree Service in West Des Moines.

On December 28, 1974 she was united in marriage to Clark Fielding. They then moved to San Francisco, California where Clark completed his education. They then moved back to Chariton, Iowa where Clark joined the family business and Maureen and Clark started their family. Maureen then worked for Dwight Vredenburg of Hy-Vee Food Stores. In 1983 Clark and Maureen bought Fielding Funeral Homes, Inc where she served as Vice President and Treasurer. She worked for forty years with her husband until four years ago when her health continued to deteriorate.
