Marion (Bud) Barnhart Obituary

Marion Francis Barnhart (Bud), of Pea Ridge, AR was born March 13, 1938 in Chariton, Iowa to Dewey and Meda (Apgar) Barnhart. He passed from this life into eternal glory, Friday, September 20, 2019 at the age of 81 years old. Bud graduated in 1956 from Greentop, MO High School. He was united in marriage to Doris James on June 6, 1958 and to this union, their daughter, Brenda Lee was born. Bud was a truck driver all his life and enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt (#3). Upon retirement, relocated to NW Arkansas to be near Brenda and began working at Walmart Store #100 in the Tire and Lube and attending auctions. He retired from Walmart in 2004 after the birth of his beloved grandson James Lee (Jimmy) in 2002 and spent most of his time teaching him all he knew about old cars and working together in his shop tinkering. As Jimmy got older, you could generally find those two together at auctions or in the shop working on the 1938 Chevy Coupe that was their pride and joy. He was most proud of his James Lee and how quick he was to learn the trade of rebuilding and working on old and new cars – just as he had always dreamed if he had had a son of his own. Bud is survived by his Daughter Brenda Flanagan and her Husband Norman Keene of Pea Ridge, AR; Grandsons James Lee (Jimmy) Flanagan, Colter (Nisa) Keene and Quintin (Rebecca) Keene and Granddaughter Brooklyn Ingram; Great Grandchildren Christian, Dawson, Beau and Jameson; Former Son In Law James Flanagan; Sisters Shirley Waag and Jean (Larry) Wheeldon; Brothers Charles Barnhart and Clyde (Linda) Barnhart; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Meda Barnhart and Marlene Haltom and Richard (Duke) Barnhart. There will be a Celebration of Life at Fielding’s Funeral Home in Chariton on October 19th, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 12p.m.
