Marie Violet Clark was born November 5, 1934 to Neal Brice and Dora Viola (Etter) Duckworth in Iowa City, Iowa. She passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Chariton Specialty Care Center in Chariton, Iowa at the age of 84 years.
Marie grew up around the Russell area and graduated from the Russell High School. She was united in marriage to Floyd Dwaine Clark on December 16, 1952 in Russell, Iowa. To this union, two sons were born, Russell and Robert. In 1957, Marie and her family established their family home in Williamson, Iowa.
Marie enjoyed her time as a homemaker, while her husband Floyd worked for the railroad. Her hobbies included a love for camping, crocheting, attending Blue Grass Festivals, trout fishing, gardening and spending time with her children and all of her grandchildren.
Marie cherished life and family gatherings. She was the nicest lady to everyone she ever met and will be dearly missed by many.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Dora Duckworth; her husband, Floyd Dwaine Clark; her brothers, Donald and Richard Duckworth; her grandparents, Walter Duckworth, Asa and Edith Etter; Christian Clark and many relatives.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Lisa) Clark of Chariton, IA and Russell (Debbie) Clark of Chariton, IA; special friend and companion, Elmer Cassidy of Williamson, IA; her sister-in-law, Velma Duckworth of Des Moines, IA; her brothers, Marvin (Dianne) Duckworth of Corydon, IA and Ed and Carolyn Duckworth of Chariton, IA; her in-laws, John (Maria) Clark of Lucas, IA, Marilyn (Dave) Duda of Hazel Green, WI, and Paul (Beth) Clark of Stanhope, Iowa; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, plus many, many extended family and relatives.
Memorials may be directed towards the Activities Program located at the Chariton Specialty Care Center.
