Luke Allen Kline was born on July 20, 1981 to Annetta Marie (Amos) and Dwayne Charles Kline in Albia, Iowa. He passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Mercy Medical Center located in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 37 years.
Luke grew up in Chariton and attended the Chariton Community High, graduating with the Class of 2000. After high school, Luke attending the Indian Hills Community College, graduating in 2011. He was united in marriage to Jolene Kay McKenzie on July 15, 2017 in Albia, Iowa. Luke was a truck driver and was employed with MCI, Willis Trucking and Osceola Foods company. In 2013, he had to retire due to kidney failure.
In Luke’s spare time, he enjoyed mushroom hunting, singing, and cooking. Luke was a Husker fan, but started following the Iowa Hawkeyes when a hometown boy started playing for the Hawks. Also, he was a fan of the Chicago Cubs. Luke always brought humor everywhere he went. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Luke found the love of his life in Jolene. He loved traveling with Jolene to Chicago, Oklahoma or anywhere as long as he was with Jolene by his side.
Luke was preceded in death by his father, Dwayne Kline; his grandfather, Gene Kline; his grandmother, Wilma Stiles; his great grandparents, Roy and Englene (Raveling) Amos.
He is survived by his wife, Jolene Kline of Altoona, Iowa; his mother, Ann Kline of Chariton, Iowa; his sister, Amber Kline of Chariton, Iowa; his grandparents, Fred and Ruth Amos of Chariton, Iowa; his grandmother, Helen Kline of Melrose, Iowa; his in-laws, Mike and Susan McKenzie of Bondurant, Iowa; his sister, Brandy Rowland of Russell, Iowa; special nephew and niece, Colby Jon and Nicole and great niece, Serinity; and many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that loved him dearly.
