June O. Rupp of Osceola, was born on January 19, 1927 to Ernest Raymond and Opal Aletha (Smith) Powell in Ottawa, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Good Samaritan in Fontanelle, Iowa at the age of 92 years.
June grew up in Cambria, Iowa and graduated from Cambria High School. In 1945, June was united in marriage to Carroll Clyde Snyder. To this union, three daughters were born, Pat, Carolyn, and Gail. The couple raised their family in the Derby area. In 1965, Carroll passed away. June was united in marriage to John Rupp in 1978. The couple made their home in Chariton until 1997, when they moved to Osceola, Iowa.
June enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with family and friends, and had a love for flowers of all kinds. She loved the holidays, cooking special meals for her children and grandchildren.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Opal Powell; her first husband, Carroll Snyder and her second husband, John Rupp; her sister, Vi Danek; and her sons-in-law, Butch Foutch and Bob Hardy.
June is survived by her three daughters, Pat Leehart of Shelbyville, IL., Carolyn Hardy of Greenfield, IA., and Gail (Max) Shanholtzer of Shelbyville, IL.; her grandchildren, Karol (Mike) McDole of Scottsdale, AZ., Chris Foutch of Melcher, IA., Kevin Foutch (Sheri) of Iowa Falls, IA., Steve (Robin) Holder, Scott (DeeDee) Holder and Spencer (Sharee) Holder all of Greenfield, IA, Jason (Shirley) Shanholtzer of Tower Hill, IL., Justin Shanholtzer of Miami, FL.; her great grandchildren, Aaron and Ashley Bartels, Zack and Emma Holder, Gabe, Braydon, and Carter Holder, and Jasey Lynn Shanholtzer; four step grand children and fourteen step great great grandchildren. John's children, Richard (Pam) Rupp, Roger (Cindy) Rupp and Karen (Dennis) Shepherd; grandchildren, Dr. Richard Rupp, Amy (Bill) Winn, Joshua Shepherd, Dustin (Kristie) Shepherd, Sandy (Greg) Petry, Angela (Jess) McLane; 20 great grandchildren, and one great -great grandchild on the way; her special cousin, Betty Snuggs; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
