John Wesley Goodsell

John Wesley Goodsell “Demichelis” was born September 03, 1974 to his parents Christine Vairo and Glenn Allen Goodsell in Iowa City, Iowa.  Johnny attended East High School and Roosevelt High School in Des Moines Iowa where he graduated. 

Johnny lived in San Francisco, California with his sister Jenny (Test) Goodsell. He became a professional dog handler with Dog  Grrl, Inc and managed The Doody Ranch, a B&B for pampered pets. When Johnny moved back to Iowa,  he worked as a laborer for Forman Ford as a union member.

Johnny was a big fan of football, The Denver Broncos were his favorite team. Johnny was very active and loved being in the outdoors with his favorite canine companion Rocky. Johnny’s love of dogs was as BIG as his heart, a heart we will never forget.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father Glenn Allen Goodsell, grandmothers Marion Goben and Loy Bell Stines (Goodsell), grandfathers Wayne Vairo Sr. and Clarence Goodsell.  He is survived by mother Christine Vairo and Step-father Curt Demichelis Sr., his girlfriend Christie Crain, siblings, Jenny (Test), Danielle, Elijah Goodsell and Jenny, Curt Jr. and Travis (& Amanda) Demichelis, Malcolm and Travon Thompson.

Johnny passed away September 21, 2019 at his home.  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 28, 2019. at Feilding Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday September 27, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Chariton Cemetery following the services. A luncheon will be held at the Cornerstone Church following the interment at the cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made to www.fieldingfuneralhomes.com.
