Jerry H. Stone, son of Gerald "Jerry" Stone and Ann (Henderson) Stone, was born November 9, 1955 in Corydon, Iowa and passed away very unexpectedly at the home of his sister and brother -in~ law in Carrollton, Missouri March 11, 2017 at the age of 61.

Jerry was united in marriage to Gayle McCown in April 1978 and to this union a son Jamie was born.

Jerry was a long-time employee at the Chariton Wholesale and relished the friendships he made there. In recent years, he made many cherished friendships with 'walkers' as he would walk up to 40 miles a week at the community center. He was an avid collector of antiques and quilts. He enjoyed sharing the stories that come with each piece. He made many projects with barn wood that are lasting treasures. He loved his gardening, especially the marigold project with his neighbor to improve the beauty of the railroad right of way. A special treat was each Christmas when he would wear a red suit and invite children to gather around for gifts. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with friends and family, especially his son. Jamie. He never ended a phone call or a visit without saying "I love you."

Jerry was a resident of Chariton all of his life and attended the First Christian Church. He never met a stranger and always enjoyed giving a helping hand.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents. several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his son Jamie Stone and wife Amy of Oskaloosa, Iowa. Granddaughter, Jordan Stone of Avery, Iowa. Sister Lou Stone and husband Ed Endicott of Carrollton, Missouri. Nephew Matthew Endicott and wife Janet of Carrollton, Missouri with great niece Lennox Endicott. Aunt Lucille Stone of Chariton, Iowa. Aunt and Uncle Bill and Rita Henderson of Greentop, Missouri. Step-granddaughters Aven Owen and Brittney Owen. Girlfriend Angie Resa of Lucas, Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
